"ITS SHOWTIME" AT SOUTHERN THEATRE AND ARTS SUPPORTERS,
WILLUNGA.
2012 will commence with the STARS LAUNCH on Sunday 5 February at 5.00 pm which will feature energetic dance by local artists and elegance with CATRIONA BARR Opera singer whose career includes performances overseas and more recently with the State Opera in Carmen in 2011.
STARS committee is delighted to welcome Barbara George, the CEO of the
Adelaide Symphony Orchestra who will launch the diverse programme, highlights
of which will include Co-operas Cosi Fan Tutte on Sunday March 18. This
is the only performance that Co-opera will do in McLaren Vale this year
so be early for bookings.
As part of History Month in May, STARS will present "The Bloke"
featuring the writings of C.J. Dennis with songs of the era. Splash
Theatre will be presenting the stage performance Sunday May 27 at 2.00
pm. Something new for STARS.
It will be truly SHOWTIME when Sidonie Henbest returns for a cabaret
featuring the songs of Sophie Tucker. Dont miss this night when Sidonie
will be joined by Matthew Carey at the piano. Details later.
Homage to DUKE ELLINGTON will be another Sunday concert featuring Chris
Martin and musicians who will salute the story of the magnificent Duke
himself.
There wil be three Art Exhibitions throughout the year and one featuring
Roe Gartleman who is a renowned local artist and will exhibit during
SALA.
SHOWTIME is definitely happening at STARS and there will be a return
performance of Samantha Rubenhold and Robert England with an opera afternoon
featuring Tatachilla College Performance Co-ordinator Greg John and
fellow performers.
